Researchers at Cornell University explored how AI generated self clones can improve online presentation skills. The study involved an experiment with 44 international students who practiced English presentations using both their own self-recorded videos and AI-enhanced self-clone videos. These AI videos used technologies like voice cloning and face swapping to improve aspects of the participants' presentations. The results showed that while both groups improved, the AI group developed a more reflective and compassionate approach to self-critique, experienced less speech anxiety, and enjoyed the process more. The study suggests that the use of digital self-clones can positively impact both the emotional and cognitive aspects of learning and skill development.
